DEPARTMENT OF NURSING
The Director of Nursing will lead a culture of shared responsibility for resident-centered care and engagement in the higher levels of support. In addition, this position serves as a coach and mentor to nursing staff, supporting and growing them to deliver exceptional care through individualized, innovative and holistic approaches. This position collaborates closely with staff to ensure that resident needs and preferences for clinical care and a meaningful daily routine are met and a culture of engagement is upheld.
In addition, this position plans, organizes, develops and directs the overall operation of nursing services, in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations, requirements, policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, effective management of resources to meet resident care needs and to maintain quality levels of resident care.
- Oversight of 24-hour nursing care delivered by personnel assigned to the department.
- Create an environment conducive to and which facilitates staff development and the enrichment of resident life.
- Incorporates and teaches language that supports a resident’s personhood and nurtures a compassionate team approach.
Education:
- BSN required, MSN preferred
- Current, unencumbered license as Registered Nurse in North Carolina, or qualified to obtain NC license (NC license must be granted prior to hiring).
- Current certification in CPR – Adult Module (American Health Association or American Red Cross).
- Preferred: Experience in Geriatric Nursing
Experience:
- Minimum five years administrative experience as Registered Nurse
- Two- Four years’ experience as supervisor in long-term care or equivalent health related field.
